Taco Challenge

Hello!
I am glad you liked the picture :) A member in the fulton ward sent one to moms phone last week.

Happy Birthday to Sister Furniss! Sister Kimball broke the taco record tonight with 15. The party was fun! I didn't even try the taco challenge. seriously this whole week we have been having double dinners and I was just tired of being stuffed!! haha I was definitely trying to be charitable haha
Sister Furniss is from Blackfoot Idaho and Sister Kimball is from Logan Utah. Sister Kimball is a direct descendant of Heber C. Kimball who is also somehow related to Spencer W. Kimball. She caries her pedigree chart with her everywhere because people ask her that all the time haha
we had another busy week! it went by so fast!
Jordan and Emily past their baptism interview and were able to get baptized on Saturday and confirmed on Sunday. Jordan is 12 and Emily is 13. they are a lot of fun!
We came back for the second time to teach our investigator named michael and he read 5 chapters from the book of mormon! And understood what was going on!! it was refreshing to see that.
Another investigator named Kelsie came to church with her little boy! She is super cute and really enjoyed it! we were trying to contact a less active and found out that they moved and kelise lives there now so that is how we found her. she was looking for a church for something that her little 3 year old boy could be involved in.
President Mahassey (second Councillor to president morgan) decided that he wanted to visit the fulton ward yesterday as well. he couldn't have picked a busier week! he didn't know that fulton and mexico were together for this short time but he enjoyed his visit in fulton! He took the 3rd hour of church to talk to us about the work being done in fulton and gave us advice and motivated us. it was kind of a tender mercy from God. He send his servant to strengthen us and let us know that we were doing a good job. God is definitely carrying this work. I don't know how these areas are staying alive but they are haha we were even able to pick up two new investigators who have had a lot of contact with missionaries in the past! they told us, "I don't know if God is trying to tell us something but missionaries just keep coming back!" haha. I love them and look forward to teaching them more. they don't like joseph smith and they don't think they need to be baptized again so those are the two main concerns we need to get over.
And this is just what happened in Fulton! I haven't even talked about what happened in mexico!
It's been crazy busy but I am so happy :) I love my companions! They are so much fun! we are making lots of fun memories together!!
I love you all thank you for the update!
ps Who is candace marrying!?!? and when is the marriage date!? so many people have told me she is getting married but no one is saying who??

Fun

Reenacting the first vision

having fun with the Halloween stuff :)

Haunted House

Hey I am in a trio and taking care of both areas, Mexico and Fulton because president morgan didn't want to close down an area. It sucks so bad. But at least I can say that I served my mission in Mexico!!! haha And the girls I am serving with are awesome. we go back and forth between Mexico and Fulton and the Mexico house that the sisters live in is haunted! and there is a huge spider that has taken over the basement so we never go down there. there is a room in the has that an old lady died in so we never go into that room either. One night we came home and it was dark and the haunted room door was like 4 inches cracked open!! I walked up to the door to close it and told my companions and they asked me how far open it was. so we all went to the door and I reach to open the door and it opened!!!!!! Right before I touched the door knob! We all screamed and ran away and then started laughing. It was so scary!
As for the missionary work it is going well.We plan to have a baptism this weekend with some kids we have been teaching. And remember that guy that I talked about that was golden and then went crazy on us? Well he came to church yesterday and last sunday!!! We were at a members home one night for dinner and the member got a text message from Devon and he said something like, sorry I haven't been to church in a while, I have been struggling with my faith but something keeps drawing me back to this church. We decided to play it cool with him and just let him figure things out before jumping into teaching him again. I talked to him at church and he said he has been reading and praying a lot and he started college and is saving up for a car... things are doing really well for him. I KNEW IT WASN"T OVER WITH HIM!! :) :) It makes me so happy. The spirit is so powerful. And it just goes to prove that we as missionaries are the instruments. we probably messed up with devon and heavenly Father is just over here cleaning up our mess haha And God definitely answers prayers. Ah man. I wish I could tell you more of the story in person. I just can't wait to hear what happens next in this crazy story.

We found some critters this week too! We saw a huge dead Armadillo on the side of the road so we had to stop and take a picture with it. I have never seen a live armadillo before. but it stunk sooo bad. I didnt touch it because I didn't want to get leprosy.
I also saw a prey mantis!!! It was so cool! We stopped to get gas and it was just chilling at the gas station so I got my camra out and was taking picture and he was just staring at me. But then I was getting too close and it jumped up and flew away and it made me jump and I screamed and a black lady who was there started laughing at me. it was really funny.
We came in to email late today so I guess it worked out that you emailed late as well :) I never ran into wayne pederson. Did there family come down to Nauvoo again? And I did not know Jason bohnet got married! that is exciting and I wouldn't be surprised is candace was engaged by the time I get back :) I hope so that would be cool. She better wait for me to get home.
It is weird because we were in the store this morning and they are starting to put out the halloween stuff. it is weird because last year during halloween I was a missionary so that means I have been out way too long and that also means it is soon coming to a close. Which also means I have to make every second count!!
I just want you guys to know that everything is going great. It has been really hard working the fulton schedule with the mexico schedule and prioritizing things but like you said it has definitely been a growing experience. I will get a new companion sept. 9th because that is when the new transfer is.
I also want to say that I LOVE my mission president and his wife! they are amazing and I feel like they are my mission parents. They really look out for us missionaries. I have also learned that God is definitely in this work. I don't know how we are doing it but things are working out and we are going to have two baptisms this weekend.
I am so tired. I was worried that august was going to be a slow month but I was so so wrong.
I am glad to hear you are all doing well.
I love you all.
Have a great week.

What a weeeeeek

Oh my gosh I am crying! I am not sure if I am crying because that little video was so funny (helium voice video made at family reunion) or if it is because I miss you guys but either way I love you!! It sounds like the family reunion was a blast. I definitely trained my dog well! such good manners. And it shows that good examples stand out. I am so proud of my little boy, doing missionary work. doing what Jesus would do. (Getting our meal payed for in Waterton)
What a weeeeek!!
A lot has happened. It feels like it was a really long week too. A lot of the days have just blurred together. Let me see if I can organize my thoughts...
The first few days of the week we weren't teaching a lot. Our teaching pool was slowly dying. The guy who likes to say peace love and no bugs is in a nursing home in Columbia and will be there for at least 2 weeks. But his spirits are still high and we are getting the missionaries to visit him there and we got him a priesthood blessing. I hope he comes back soon because he wants to get baptized. He is so fun to teach and is just absorbing everything we are giving him.
We were teaching a foster child but she was having problems and ran away from home and so she moved.
But we have also found some new people this week!
A lot of random people have just let us teach them so that is good because it lets my trainee have practice teaching the restoration. We have a lot of good potentials and we have picked up three new investigators this week. Mostly from tracting. There is this one guy who came across an out door ward party a couple months ago and was talking to the bishop a bit and we have been trying to pick him up as an investigator for a while. A couple days ago we tried to contact him and he said that he was busy so he told us to talk to his wife. We were talking to her for a bit and she shared with us a lot about her family and how they are going through a rough time. We ended up talking about the Book of Mormon, what it is and how it is written for our day. And that we can receive a lot of peace and guidance from reading it. we shared a scripture with her and she really liked it. It was one of those times where you really felt like the spirit was present and working.
We came back later on that week and we had a lesson with both of them. I am excited to teach them more.
We had a weird experience too. We were tracting and a lady opened the door and squished her nose up against the window of the screen door and just looked at us with a smile. we told her that we are missionaries from the church of Jesus Christ of lds and then she just gasped with this surprised yet happy look on her face. Still with her face smushed against the window. haha We were able to set up a return appointment with her and taught her the restoration. She was still kind of weird but not as weird as she was the first time. She may have been under the influence of something. if you know what I mean. haha I don't know if she will continue to let us teach her though. She looks a lot like that heavier lady who is on Brides maids. or Life as we Know it.
Anyways. It has been a hard week. Our gps that I found is not working so I am thinking of buying a new one today. I kind of wish they told us to bring a gps before the mission because it is definitely a necessity. How much money did I get for my birthday? I was looking at the prices and I think the cheapest one was like 88 dollars.
This coming week will be another crazy, hard, interesting, fun, spiritual week with lots more learning experiences!
I love you and hope you have another great week! :)
Love

The Challenge

Hello Everyone!
Yes I got the skittles loonies and twoonies! thank you very much!
I am actually really enjoying training and being a trainer. It is not as bad as I thought it would be. Of course we are just starting the first week of our twelve week experience but so far I love it!
My new companion's name is Sister Bustillos. She is from Orange county California. My third companion from california! I think it is a sign! I need to live in California. I think she came pre-trained though. she is a natural. Me and sister bustillos are challenging each other on who can ask for more referrals and who can give out more Book of Mormons. I am beating her on the referrals she is beating me by one on the book of mormons haha We are having fun. Going over 12 week training again is cool too. It is just so funny watching a new missionary explore and how funny and innocent her questions are.
After I dropped off my dead companion at the mission home I stayed with two Sisters in St.Louis. It made me miss serving in St.Louis.
It has been a good week
Thanks for the love!
